Does any one get nauseated on imuran?

I took imuran for 6 months and had the dry heves in the morning and didn't want to eat it got to the point were I could only eat a couple bites at a time. But when my gastro did all the tests on me and couldn't find anything. Well 11 months later now that I'm flaring I decided to give it another try 3 days later I'm nauseated. I'm going to give it till the end of the week but its looking like it has to be it. What about 6mp maybe it won't cause such bad side effects. I would just like to know if this has happened to you I am currently on 100mg.

I took 100 mg and vomited 4 times in 6 hours. Needless to say I stopped taking it! It's probably for the best because I was "maybe" a low enzyme blood type anyway.

See that's the weird thing all my blood tests came back fine that's what frustrates me that there's no blood work proof that it's messing with me:)

I was only on 75mg of Imuran but I was nauseated and vomited a few times. Mostly I found it impossible to drink/eat and experienced really bad fatigue and low electrolytes. My GI agreed that we should stop it.

I got a bit nauseaus the first few days on aza, eventually it just disappeared. Hope this time works out better for you then last time did!

It made me feel queasy for the first week or so, then that disappeared and it really helps me. The flares are shorter and less severe. Give this drug time to work, it's not for everyone, but it gave me my life back and I've had zero side effects.

Yeah my husband is a pharmacist and the 6 months I was on it I was also on blood thinners he said cause they both compete for enzymes in the liver the blood thinner could of made it more severe but I was really nauseated for 6 months and then quit so I'm on day 4 already nauseated he said the reason he didn't suggest I quit it is cause he thought I would "adjust" I'm giving it 3 weeks and I'm done this time. I wish my body would adjust cause there's not that many options out there. But I'm not going threw the hell I went through in 2010.

i did the whole time i was on it, i found that protonix helped me a lot, and i stayed on phenogren the whole time i was on it and 6mp.

I did that too and the phenogren but it made me real sleepy!

I ended up in the hospital from imuran. I had more nausea each day until I vomited over 20 times. Hope you feel better soon.

I was definitely nauseated on Imuran, but it took 3-4 months for the "adjustment phase" to kick in. With that being said, being nauseous 24/7 is a lot of suffering to put up with. I did stop taking it at some point though.
