i hate moviprep

I absolutely hate the taste of moviprep! I only have three glasses left, but the thought of drinking more makes me want to throw up. Does anyone else share my hatred of moviprep? :)

All the preps are tough. There has been a few times, especially with the Miralax/Dulcolax combo that went well. Last prep was a disaster.

Hang in there. If this is what you need to do one a year, deal with it. I'm doing it once in every six months.

Just drink it slowly.

It is 3:30 am and I am almost through with the prep. The taste is aweful, simple as that! I never salt any of my food and this stuff is over the top. I can only get down 6 of the 8 - 8 oz. drinks. I have red that it's ok. I hope so. Using cream on the bottom seems to help the burning. My dog must think oddly of me camping out in the bathroom for over an hour. WARNING - when it starts to work it is best to just camp out with a funny book. I am VERY glad that this only happens once every five years. The cost was a $50 co-pay. TOO much. Someone Please invent a simple pill to do the same thing. I wonder how many of these doctors have tried this prep? In the long run I know it is worth it but right now I am miserable.

I hate movie prep also.  It is gross. I have to choke it down and last time I had it I threw it all up.  Thank God I was cleaned out because there was no way I was going to drink it. Every time I take a sip I gag.  When I went to the doctor I asked why they give that instead of the gatorade/miralax and she said no reason I can have the gatorade/miralax next time just to ask for it.  I will at least that is ok.

Better yet, ask for the "pill prep" or OsmoPrep. No disgusting liquids to drink. You just take the pills as scheduled and drink TONS of clear liquids of your choice. The only caveat is you MUST drink the quantity of liquid instructed. As far as I'm concerned that's totally not a problem. In most cases, you have to ask for this prep. Why doctors don't offer it as an option is beyond me. I'll never prep any other way so long as I have the choice.

I thought the reason most doctors won't use the pill prep is the FDA added a black box warning. Not sure what the warning is for, I think something with the kidneys. Probably most doctors don't think something like a scope prep is worth the risk of a black box warning.

I did the Osmoprep a few years ago and roughly a year later, I started getting blood in my urine - coincidence? Perhaps. Yes, the black box warning was that Osmoprep and some other c-scope preps can cause kidney complications.

I have a hatred of ALL preps. I have yet to use one that didn't make me want to throw up. Osmoprep included. I reallllllllyyyyy wish they had an easier way to make these preps nicer on a person!

From what I understand, you MUST drink copious liquids as instructed when you take the pill prep. If you don't, you risk the kidney complications. OsmoPrep is contraindicated for people with kidney problems or certain other serious health issues.
