Just had another colonoscopy and Dr said my colitis is only right near the rectum(and a 5 out of 10 in badness) and the rest of the colon is fine. Other than when i was first diagnosed 4 years ago and on prednisone(which i can no longer take because it give me diabetes) have i been in anything close to remission. I have tried every pill, and steriod and mesmaline enemas and nothing. So my question is...what do you do? I dont want to use 6MP or Remicade because the side effects for someone 28 are a little to serious... has anyone ever tried endocort? any luck? i just feel like its hopeless because its not bad enough for surgery but bad enough that the first 3 hours i am up i use the bathroom 5-6 times and nervous anytime i am in a car or not close to a bathroom...

So, I'm a little confused, this colonoscopy's results showed UC has decreased or increased?

I would suggest some rectal meds: canasa suppositories or enemas.

Don't blame you for not wanting to go on any biologics, I feel the same way.

What kind of diet are you on?

Any supplements?

Any thoughts about giving LDN - low dose naltrexone a try?

i do enemas...barley help...no UC hasnt changed...diet seems to have no affect on my UC... i do VSL3 2 2x a day and dont know much about LDN...

Maybe try the Vitamin E enemas since yours is so low. I would use a big dose of fiber 2x a day too. That will slow things up, give you more time to find a toilet, decrease your anxiety in a car. I am about 4-6 x every morning, and my whole colon is shot, so bulk that crap up.
