aaaah im so fed up!

I was diagnosed with uc a good few months back now and they started me off on asacol but I was still bleeding far to much so they put me on prednisolone. I came off that a few weeks ago and i have currently put on three stone in the last thirteen weeks!! I had crazy mood swings and insomnia on my high dose which was expected but a bit of a shock to my little body....not so little now i suppose haha! I think its the moon face and the fat thats gathering in beteween my shoulders and cheeks thats killing me! I am going on holiday n a month and cant handle looking so different I am a younger girl and hate it! Is there any ways i can stop putting on weight? I am also hoping to ask if any one else gets alot of wind after drinking fizzy juice its painful and a but weird :( ! Weight advice would also be a great great help, thanks! x

Once you get off the pred. the moonface and shoulder fat should start to go away. Many of us have "been there" - I feel for you!

One of the first things my GI told me was to stop drinking anything fizzy because of the wind issues. He also suggested not using a straw to drink (we swallow more air with a straw)......

My advice would be to keep a dairy of what foods cause you discomfort and sty off those for now. Once you're in remission you can likely eat/drink more freely, but for now, watch to see what affects you. We're all different, and different foods affect us!
