Colonoscopy Tomorrow!

I'm new to this forum, so please forgive any errors I may have.

I am getting my colonoscopy done tomorrow. I am fasting today and drinking losts of water. At 5:00pm I have to drink the pico-salax. From what I've read about that it is a breeze. My question is, how fast does it kick in from when I drink it until I have to sit on the toilet. I drink another one at 6am and my test is at 12:00pm. Its probably different for everyone. I am just wondering how long I have to be in our only bathroom! Thanks for your help.

Hi and welcome to the forum!
I have never taken pico-salax, so I can't answer your question, but I wanted to wish you luck on your scoping tomorrrow!

Make sure you drink enough clear liquids..... that will help the prep to work and also keep you from getting dehydrated. And I find if my bottom gets sore from being in the bathroom, some lubrication on it really helps! (I've used a number of kinds of ointments and even vaseline during the prep.......)
