Ok My son and I have been discussing this Fecal transplant option. He is due for a colonoscopy and sees his Doctor next month and wants
to ask him about it. My son is afraid he will not go along with the idea,,so how do we convince him?
Also, I would be the donor, as his mom,,,and I have healthy bowels...but...I do take a doxycycline pill everyday,, 50 mg. for my rosasia (a skin condition on the face)
Would I have to quit taking the 50mgs. of doxycycline for 3 months first before donating?? Boy, will my skin be a mess. and would my son have to take antibiotics first?

Where are you located, I would like to know if they do this type of operation in Canada...from what I've read, it's only done in Australia...

Forgot to add, if you're concerned about your issue with the pills, why don't you get the dad if he's ok, or aunt or anyone else that's supposed to be in good health in general.

Well, I don't live in Canada,,,I live in Virginia,, USA...and my husband, the dad,,has had colitis too,,only a milder case,,for the last 40 years. He is sorta in remission now but His poo wouldn't be much good. Maybe my other son would work,,but I haven't asked him yet... :-)

You definitely shouldn't donate while you are on anti-biotics as your poo will have its own issues. I hate to say this but your rosacae problem indicates that you may have your own gut problems and may not be an ideal donor. You don't want to pass this on to your son in his vulnerable condition.

You really need to consider why you have rosacae and why the anti-biotics work so well for it. Skin and gut conditions go hand in hand. So the anti-biotics may be killing off something in your gut that is causing the rosacae. The other problem is that long term anti-biotics use causes its own problems - see my story. 

If I were you I would either find another donor or cure your rosacae before your donate. If you haven't seen it already Jini Patel's website Listen to Your Gut is very good (she cured her own Cronhs) and her techniques could help both of you or at least get your rosacae under control so you can help your son. I also recommend this great home fecal transplant forum.
