Fibroids affecting UC??

Yes, I had a hysterectomy, and not having the hormone ups and downs from periods, as well as the debilitating pain, has never been a regret. I had to have my ovaries removed because of endometriosis and scarring.

yes, I agree that one less issue in that area to deal with is helpful. I'm only speaking from experience, and would do it again in a second.

What does a degenerating fibro mean?

If you don't want a hysterectomy, there is a surgery that can be done to cut off the blood supply to the fibroid...therefore shrinking it. You might consider looking into that (forget the name).

I'm with you Ima. It seems a little drastic to cut it all out because of a fibroid.

Q: degenerating means in April it was a little smaller and didn't have any fluid, and by today it had grown a bit and had fluid in it (blood?). It means it's changed, and since it's not supposed to be there, I guess they give it a creepy name. I'll look into the surgery you suggested to shrink it. I don't need my ovaries out, so I'll still be dealing with all the hormonal effects. I'm thinking on going back on the pill to see if it'll help my UC.
