Ever get to that point where...

Yeah I have a big plastic shoebox full of stuff. I don't mind much until I'm not sure if I'm staying the night somewhere or not. Then sometimes I'm too lazy to get everything out and put it in a bottle so I throw this huge 4 lb box in my bag.
Or sometimes I get the box out of the cabinet and the lid pops off and the bottles go all over the place. Grr.

I hate when I forget if I've taken them or not. You would think you would remember downing 10 pills in 2 minutes but I never remember.

When I crossed over to too many pills to carry the bottles with me like I used to, I went searching for a pretty pill case that didn't make me feel like I was 60. Actually I first wanted a Hello Kitty pill case - my husband didn't think they'd exist but I said there's a market now for the young and fashionably sick - and they do, just weren't what I wanted.

I could find the web site I got mine again if anyone's interested, or just search for custom pill cases. Mine is about a 3" square brushed metal, flat, lots of room inside, with a dragonfly on the cover.

Then I got a cheapo little pair of plastic cases at the drug store, put a day's worth of pills in one that I stash in my backpack, and a work day's worth that I keep at work, as a backup just in case I ever forget or lose the real one. I swap those out every couple months to keep them fresh.

My prescriptions, OTC's and supplements take up the file drawer in my desk. I fill pill sorters - one for morning and one for evening - each week, so I can always tell if I forgot to take them. Of course, that doesn't help if I don't notice it until the next day.

Sometimes I think if I didn't have that volume of horse pills in my stomach I'd have to take larger servings of food to fill me up!

My husband calls my medicine cupboard - breakfast, lunch and dinner.....

For yrs I had to rely on retention enemas with their gigantic boxes-- so when I was able to switch to pills I felt truly grateful! They ARE smaller-- even if we have to take more of them at one time. Hurray for that!!!!!! / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

I'm gonna go get my gigantic brown bag tomorrow as well!!  I'll think of you when I do Sherry...haha.  Mine's full of Rowasa boxes, how fun is that?  My favorite day was when it was raining and I was holding a kid in one arm and my Rowasa bag in the other arm and something had to give...I put my kid down before I dropped the enemas...is that bad?  Chuckle...

Sometimes I look at my pills and supplements in the a.m. and say I can't stomach that now so I put them in my pocket and take off and take them sometime later. Looking at them in the a.m. makes me ill!!!

Well that backup I mentioned.... only works when you remember to refill it too!!!

For some reason all I have with me today is one anti-spasmoidic and two fiber pills. :/

I hated it at first, but now I'm used to it and it's no big deal. I have three pill bottles - one for breakfast, one for lunch/afternoon snack and one for dinner. I just fill 'em up the night before and pop the lunchtime bottle in my lunch bag or purse.

What's funny to me is I used to have a phobia about taking pills. I could gag on one small tablet. I just had a mental block. I would ask for medicines as liquids. Now, I can gulp 2-4 pills/capsules at a time and don't give it a second thought.
