1 bm a day but still have blood

and the blood is about a teaspoon full all combined when I go.  It seems I have more blood but less bm's......I am very confused.........

What do you think that means?

Where is the blood? At the end of the BM? Throughout? etc.

Beth - It could be from a hemmie or from a tiny bit of inflammation in the rectum. Are you using anything rectally? Do you have any pain with BM? Have you felt around the anus (gross I know) to see if there is a little bump that could be a hemmie?

sometimes it is marbled in w/my poo and somtimes it is at the end of it, lately it has been at the end of it.

I will check around there. I will call GI tomorrow to see if ok to do some steriod e's.

I was thinking maybe it is at the end of my rectum????

It could be some internal hemmies. Maybe your GI could do a quick anoscope (no prep, not even fleet enemas are needed) to see if you have some.

I would guess it is likely from inflammation and sensitive tissue in the rectum.  I fought that off and on for years and often it was my only symptom.

Likely some kind of hemmie activity-- they can be internal, too. That's good news if you're down to 1 bm daily! / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

My guess is also rectal inflammation although it could be a hem. I can get to the point of having all symptoms gone except a small amount of bleeding. I'm starting to think the bleeding is never going away.
