OT-ovarian cyst?

Since yesterday I have had a throbbing pain in my lower abdomen. I first thought it was just my colon/IBS. However, whenever I do have gut pain, it's usually in the evening--not continuous. Also, this pain is in a lower area than usual. I've also had multiple, loose BMs the last couple of mornings. When I've had ovarian cysts in the past, I've had sharp, stabbing pain. I'm also starting to feel nauseated. I don't know what to make of this...

I don't have symptoms during ovulation, unless it's a cyst. This is such a pain.

I've had ovarian cysts that caused constant pain - like a dull angry roar. Turned out that I had to have it laproscopically drained because it was rather large. If the pain continues, you should let your doctor know.

The other thing....you're probably flaring. Do you have rectal meds in your regimen to add?

Let us know what the outcome is....but don't wait. It's not worth the agony.

Yikes...I could have written this post! Just called my OBGYN and my UC doctor today....the more I read the more I'm convinced I'm starting to flare. It's been so long (thank goodness) and these are different symptoms than I've had before, that it's hard to tell. It will be interesting to see what it is....

I don't think it's flare...my UC/IBS pain is always very mild (I actually had to take Tylenol for this pain) and blood is typically the first symptom. The type of pain I'm having right now is lower than it usually is and is very similar to menstrual cramping. The pain is a little bit better today but I have had mild nausea all day.

I did get a ob/gyn appointment for tomorrow. We shall see...

Blood shouldn't be your first symptom since it's meaning the tissue is already a more progressed inflammation leaving it fragile to pressure and touch.

I think you might also be recognising your flares earlier....

It's great you have a gyne appointment so soon...looking forward to hear how it goes.

The ob/gyn said that it's very possible that it was an ovarian cyst. I have an ultrasound next week. She also mentioned the possibility of endometriosis b/c my periods are absolutely horrible. But she also said that birth control is the only way to treat either one...last time I was on birth control, I flared for almost a year (and it made my periods worse!). nono

My main issue yesterday was nausea; the pain and BMs were fine. And I feel much better today (hopefully I didn't jinx myself!). I keep having random symptoms but never flares...

Considering what you're going through at the moment....I think it's safe to say your body is reacting in a "harmonious" (not in a good) way.

My ovarian cyst was endometrial, I got one week out of the month that was perfect, which totally sucked.
Ultimately the decision for hysterectomy was best.

But, you being 22 have lots going on in one area. It's better to have it all sorted out and maybe the one ovary that's giving you grief could be removed in the future...if that's the only area that's affected with endo.

Good you're feeling a bit better...but sheesh, you truly need a break!
