I don't know what to do anymore. My fistula sucks, the blood is back. On top of all that I have developed two cyst type things behind my ear and am waiting to see a doctor for that. I can't start Humira until my fistula is under control, but it never is. I have to see my colorectal dr. before I can start humira but he's backed up until who knows when. It's driving me crazy.

I am sorry you're feeling so down. I am surprised they are making you wait for the fistula to heal to start Humira, I thought humira helps fistulas? Have you considered seeing if there is another CR dr you could meet to get an opinion on the situation? Are you using any 5ASAs?

If you're really feeling bad, I recommend speaking to a professional. I did and I actually think the medication helped my UC. I am not sure if it is the medication or the better mindset but something helped.

It's not that they're waiting for it to heal, rather they don't want it abscessed and get infected. Which it currently is at the moment. They fear that if they start it while it's infected the infection might go crazy and what not. I already have a seton stitch in there and anti-biotics don't do anything to help anymore. Blahhhhh I just want to start the Humira already.

Why do you need to see a colorectal doctor (surgeon???) to go on Humira, won't your GI just put you on it? What's botherin you the most- the fistula, your UC, the other cysts? I'd try to address things in the order in which they're affecting me- do you have an appt. with the colorectal doctor? Can you get on a cancellation list for that? Can your GI see you in the meantime? How about a primary care doctor or derm for the other cysts?
