Cra, I deleted your duplicate post.
This is a tough one because doctors open up a can of worms by providing procedures that are not FDA approved. While we have seen a lot of people have success with this procedure (if you look up past threads, you can learn how to do an at home procedure), I have only spoken with one person who had this procedure done by a GI (her name is sas). Her GI is very open-minded and was willing to do it on other patients but I believe it became too much of a liability and he wasn't able to provide it to anyone else. I know there is a doctor who does this procedure in Australia for people with UC. Here in the US, it is only approved FDA for C. Diff and I believe it would only be used in that case if you failed to respond to conventional antibiotic therapies.
We have discussed this a lot and the majority of us do not understand why this is not being researched further in treatment of UC. We seem to have concluded that it's probably because the pharmaceutical companies do not make any money by using something that we can get for free to treat people. I would think a GI office would be able to get a clinicl trial going... or perhaps CCFA would be doing studies...
There was a post about possible trials in the US recently:

You may want to take a look. I hope you find something that gets him into remission.
