I'm not exactly sure what you're asking.
So the mother of a woman you know has colon cancer, and you are asking if she (the daughter, who does not have colon cancer that we know of) should get a colonoscopy?
If that's the case, she needs to see her primary care physician and explain her fears. If that doc thinks it is warranted, then he'll send her to a GI.
My guess is that if one's mother or father has colon cancer, then the standard screenings would start at an earlier age than what is normal.
