Hi...I increase when I need to and then taper to every third night.

During tapering, you could use the suppositories on the nights you don't use the enemas...

The process of finding maintenance is during tapering.

Nightly till you're normal, then I would suggest another week. the process could take 3 weeks or 3 months (or more).

Then go to every second night for however long, continue for another week and then go to every third night.

I haven't used enemas regularly for a couple of years. I have no rectal symptoms and perhaps I'm going to regret this, but I just can't remember to do the enemas and it hasn't [yet] been an issue.

But before that, I used them very regularly. From the time of my diagnosis to the point where I completely stopped using them was like eight years. During flares I used them nightly, then tapered to every other night, then every second night, etc. For a good long while I used them twice a week. Then I just stopped remembering to do it at all.
