Very dry skin/finger tip cutts

The tips of my fingers get really dry and I get small/deep painfull cutts in them. The more I go to the bathroom the worse it gets. Vice versa. Does everyone get this too, while flaring? I use lots of lotion and aquaphor to help. Just wondering because I never see anyone talking about it heh. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. God bless.

I get dry fingers regardless of whether I'm in a flare or not. Soap really does a number on my skin and dries it out. It's worse in the winter, because the air tends to be drier. I just slathered on some lotion because mine were so dry.

I got that for the first time last winter on my thumbs..but it was peeling as well.

Is it on all fingers or just one or two, one hand or both?

Put a bit of hydrocortisone creame before the other stuff. That's what helped mine.

Are you using any antibacterial creams/cleansers/hand cleaners? if so, stop using them.

The aquafor over whatever lotion could help, but I think the steroid cream (bought over the counter .05%) will at least help heal.

I get these sometimes on the tips of my fingers and on knuckes in the winter. I think it's from a combination of dry skin plus the alcohol in soaps and antibacterials, which I use often. I always use Bath & Body Works soaps and when I switched to the moisturizing ones (the ones you can't see through) it helped a lot.

My hands are very dry right now too. I think I overwash and the wash I use is probably too harsh. Keeping them moist does help but a lot of the lotions can sting if you have cuts.
