Mole removal while on 6mp and Remicade?

I have 3 moles on my neck that I was thinking of having removed because they are getting larger, irregular and they are getting aggravated by collars of my coats, shirts etc. I have had moles removed while being on 6mp but this is the first time I may have them removed while being on both 6mp and Remicade. Has anyone had moles removed while on this med combo? If so, what was your heal time? Did you take any extra precautions?

I have never had my mole removed. I have had mine, for at least 4 years. It's on my back. My GI said it's not a problem. That's what I love about this site. Anytime I questioned the doctors. They always thought it my imagination. I knew both meds together cauesd my mole. I have never had one in my life. Sorry I can't help, about your moles. I hope you can get it taken care of.
I'm still dealing with this itching rash. They don't know if fungial, or bacterial. I'm in no pain.

Red34: I'm sorry, I don't know anything about mole concerns but to floathead:
with the itching rash, I had that when I went on salofalk for about a month. I had to stop it because it was driving me bananas.

Thanks anyway Floathead. :) i hope your rash eases. Btw, I get random rashes too, well basically since I started on 6mp about 5 years ago. They come and go, they don't itch but they sort of burn - maybe they do itch but I just don't notice it as much.

I've had moles all my life and I have already had about 6 removed over the years. The three on my neck I have had since I was a little girl but it seems that when things rub across them now for some reason they get aggravated.

I know this isn't the same but kind of.  I have been getting my three warts on my big toe(that my son and I keep passing back and forth) froze with liquid nitrogen since June and I have had no problems.  I asked if it was okay because of the remicade and she said I would be fine. This was my last treatment today and they are all gone.  They turn into open blisters about two to three days after the treatment and they stay that way for awhile.  So, I would think it would be okay but I would call the nurse at the GI clinic to just make sure.

WIMOM - good idea! I forgot about my GI's office! lol My brain is a bit foggy today from my fibro and our horrible weather.

A run of 3 months on pred back in 2009 caused a huge wart on my thumb, had it froze by a dr. and it kept comming back, Horrible pain getting it froze & just painfull having it daily. After I got off pred it just went away!

I have a lot of moles none have ever been a problem, I've had skin tags removed.

Sherry; not the same, but I had knee surgery while on Remi and it healed fine. Thinking about you!

Sherry, not quite the same in my case but I had irritating skin tags removed earlier this year while on Imuran, and it took a few weeks to heal. I had them burned and cut off my back, with no stitches. Just keep on cleaning them daily and you'll see a difference in no time.

Thanks all! I had to call my GI's office anyway to see when I am due for my next Remi infusion (Dec. 28th) and I asked the GI nurse. She said it was fine that being on the 6mp/Remi combo just increases the risk of infection but if I take care of it, than I should be fine. One of my moles is a little large and may require a stitch but that's it.

That's good to know. I am very moley moley. Derms also know about remicade, humira, etc so I am sure you can ask them too. I had good convo w/ my derm about humira before I started it. They give it for psorasis (sp??).

Cadillac Lover-she said I probably got them because I am on the remicade.  I never had them before and I have had these for over a year and I have been on remicade for 2 and a half years.  So, lucky me.  My son has one and since my immune system is lowered she said he probably keeps reinfecting me.  There is no way he would go to get his wart frozen.  My lord does that hurt.  Really bad and we have to pin him down to get a shot.  So, I have put some mediplast on his and hopefully it goes away.  Because thank god mine are done.

I have been on Remicade a few years and have started getting warts - on my back, toes, etc.

Strange thing about immunosurpresents, is that if it isnt' found in nature, your body probably won't take well to it. I read another case study of lymphatic cancer recently posted in a journal about in colitis patient on immunosurpresents. Not to scare anyone but it is a real side effect you have to consider, cancers and virus' like warts and herpes.
