Biopsy doesn't confirm UC. A supposed diagnosis is stated by the doctor and that aspect seems to be confirmed by the cellular changes, activity of inflammation, lack of infection, depth of inflammation and cell changes, etc. It's more of a "in confirmation with or as found in or something like that.
I've never had any of my biopsy reports state by the pathologist that it's UC. It's only stated active, chronic nonactive colitis etc.
