Contraceptive pill, weight gain and colitis how to manage them?

Hello all. Heres some questions for the ladies especially.

I started the combined pill this week and will skip 2 cycles to make my colitis symptoms less thriggered by my periods.

However im really scared of putting on weight. I know its more a myth than anything else but since many of my colitis symptoms are more mucus and soft stools... i tend to have lots of bloating and i feel full and fatty most of time.

I would like to know some of your experiences on the pill and how it did affect you.

I started cerazette birth control pills and they are wonderful. No estrogen which is great for us UCers because we are already at an increased risk for blood clots. Estrogen is also known to cause weight gain. cerazette is a minipill and I take it everyday. My period is very light and some months I don't get it, when I do, I just wear a panty liner.

Yeah well it triggers it thats for sure! LOts of bloating, lots of trips to the bathroom and soft BM that burns a bit... you get the picture!
I wanted to have the coilt mirena first as its colitis safe but im at that stage where im fed up to invade the inside of my body really... enemas... pills, fibers and so on...
But we will see with the pill... i havent had it for like 14 years! At the time it was fine and was so afraid to put on weight that i did an hour of bicycle a day... but i just moved to London now and try to even ride a bike on the road here! Its mental! Run for your life!
