Yes Aloe Vera tastes bitter, just try to take it in the morning on empty stomach. I cringe after taking it. Whats his diet like if you dont mind me asking?
Also, ask your doctors about
a small dose of
prednisone for the time being. It's a steroid that will take control of the bodies cortisone and act as a hormone. There are gradual side effects, and there are long term side effects of taking it for more than long period of time. However, its important that in his current state he really seeks out some strong medicine that will stop the inflammation, and prednisone will do just this. A normal dose to start with is 40mg. It's important that if goes on prednisone or any other steroid, he weans it off slowly as it can do damage to the adrenal glands in the body and cause a rebound effect (bringing back symptoms). But i believe at his state he needs some sort of medicine to get his active condition under control, and then he can truly continue to see some success with all of the natural supplements he is taking.
At night when hes having an active flare and in alot of pain, ask him to take a little shot of aloe, it will coat his stomach immediately and help a bit to ease pain - it did for me!
Also, if hes up to it, it would be worth it to do some food allergy testing.
I wish you guys well, if you have any questions keep coming, this is a great support community! Just know you're not alone.
