Am still in the hospital getting iv antibiotics from my burst abscess, haven't pooped in 4 days...I am scared it will feel like a canteloupe coming out, asking doc for some miralax...wanna go home so bad

Oh, you poor thing. I told you it sounded like an abcess. They suck! I had an abcess once, it was small but it caused my whole backside to hurt. I hope you're not in for a cantelope. I am sure the doctor will offer you something. A stool softner may help. 4 days is a long time.

Thanks NSG, glad you were right and that it was not an fistula. My bum is beginning to feel better, but it was really painful.

Beth....good to hear it wasn't a fistula!

Good things are improving. Darn it girl.....a break is way long overdue!

Are you eating in the hospital or are you on just fluids? If so, maybe you won't be having a cantelope ;-)

I totally agree on asking for stool softeners....

Keep us posted how you're doing.

Oh, rats! Just when you seemed to finally be mending ... So sorry this happened to you, but good that you're getting steady medical attention. The antibiotics may loosen your bms when you resume production. Better a log than a canteloupe, though, agreed. What has the hospital been feeding you? / Old Hat (31 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

oh no! i'm sure they can give you something to loosen you up. i just got back from a 4 day stay and am still trying to get stuff out--i was worried it would be big, too, but instead i'm just passing hard pebbles. annoying but not painful! fingers crossed for you.

Got out last night, doing better going to the docs to get my bandages changed for the next few days, its a pain in the ass (haha). I had broth and jello for three meals and 2 poops they were not bad, the second was a little loose. Had to postpone my trip to England until Feb. Husband friends and work are very supportive. Really bummed out...i keep on making dumb jokes must be the percocets. Thanks for your responses.
