Just had to vent. My hair is still falling out. I would say I have lost half. I hope this stops after I get surgery.

Good luck! I lost well over half my hair before my surgery, but after I got off of all the drugs and had my surgery it stopped. I got a cute pixie cut until it all grows out. I hope everything works out for you! This disease sure does affect a lot outside the colon, doesn't it?

Thanks, I hope it reverses, although it will take a while to grow back

Hi everyone, new here, great forum.
I started losing my hair the first time took Asacol. At the time I did not realize how much hair I was losing, but looking back it was pretty rapid. I'm on Lialda now and the shedding continues. I really do miss my hair every time I look in the mirror. Such is life!

I lost a ton of hair when I started Asacol as well. I remember dying my hair once and after, clumps were coming out. I was so scared I would have patches of baldness but I didn't. I have a ton of hair, losing some for me, while traumatic, wasn't noticable. After a few months, as my health improved, my hair grew back. I had lots of short hairs poking up for a while but now it's normal. It takes time but it will improve.

Good luck, allswell! I see that you have been on Apriso, which is what I have been on since I have been diagnosed. I also noticed severe hair loss (clumps come out in the shower) if I miss a dose/am waiting for my rx to come in. I have researched that Apriso causes hair loss...but have been told by 2 doctor's that there isn't anything wrong.
