First, welcome to Healingwell! :-)

I noticed that you responded to Peter about moderating. We would love to have another moderator, but first you have to be here a certain amount of time. He prefers regular or veteran members that frequent the boards, preferably daily. Once you have a few more posts under your belt and if you are "up to snuff" we whole heartedly encourage you to apply for the position.

Anyone else.......I see there has been over 400 hits to Peters announcement. Any takers? smilewinkgrin If you want to know more details of being a moderator, do not hesitate to contact me. My email addy is under my user name.

You're welcome to contact me as well. I would love to see some of the active members participate as moderators. The UC board is one of the most active on HW and we could certainly use more help!

I contacted him and never heard anything. Guess I haven't been here long enough or don't know enough. :( I also don't go on the other boards.

Just give him time, he goes thru cycles. He is extremely busy with his work, home life (he has 4 kids), church and he suffers from health conditions himself. But like I said, he goes thru cycles of assigning mods. I would love to share the mod work with you Sherry (or is it Sherri?)! :) You don't need to go on the other forums. We just need another mod for the Uc forum.

Oh ok...thought it was just me...I would love to have something to do...this not working thing is driving me a bit nuts...being home with a 4 year old all day. Ugh!

It probably will confuse people. I could keep my real name off my signature if that would help. Thanks I'm sure I will need to ask questions. I have no idea what is involved.

BeatUC a rant is great...we need to do that, many times people in our lives just don't get it...I just hate it when people are rude to others on here. We are all in the same boat but we all have different views which is why this place is great.

Mitzvah, like Sherbear said, just create a new post and introduce yourself from there.

Being a moderator takes a certain mindset. A moderator has to be diplomatic and not let their personal feelings get in the way. We need to base our decisions on the content of a post, not how we feel about it. We also have to have a tough skin and can't take things personally. There has been quite a few posts that I have had to make a tough call on, not to be a tyrant but to keep the peace. A moderator has to think of all parties involved and can show no favoritism. It's rough to be able to read all the posts on the Uc forum because like Notso said, we are one of the busiest forums. That is why we need more eyes.

Gotcha...I do know I've read some posts that yes tick me off but I know that everyone can have an opinion and it may not be the same as mine. We just can't have emotions take over because thats when people start getting rude to each other and thats just not right.

It would be great if Fruitgirl could come back as a mod-- because, like Dakota Girl before her, she has a job in a science field. That gives a valuable perspective here. Just my take on it ... because medicine is based on the scientific method so they know how to evaluate doctor's routines, etc., as well as sharing personal experience with UC. / Old Hat (31 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
