I have a cold, stuffy head, what can I take that won't make me bleed? Any suggestions? Thank you

I had a cold a couple weeks ago and I took tylenol daytime. I didn't have issues with bleeding. I am not sure if it helped very much... Sorry you're feeling stuffed up.

Check out the different kinds of mucinex. I find this works the best for a cold.

Forget drugs, go get echinacea tea and buy some vix vapor rub. :)

I use Zicam products.....spray and lozenges at first sign of a cold.
Also use a Neti Pot to clear my sinuses, relieve headache.
Take only Tylenol for aches, pains and it helps me to sleep.

Had a bad reaction to Mucinex.

Whatever you do, don't take Afrin nasal spray, that stuff is waaayy addictive and can make your symptoms worse. I just got off it myself. The neti pot is surprisingly helpful, use it first thing in the morning and at least two more times a day, definitely right before bed to relieve congestion.

a "cold" is usually a sign of your body trying to detoxify something from your system- mainly something you ate. i would just ride it out until it's out of your system. if you take something, i'd recommend breathing in eucalyptus oil and using a saline flush.

bananagirl, a cold is usually a rhinovirus, or maybe a coronavirus.

By head cold, I assume you mean stuffy/runny nose with minimal coughing/chest mucus? If so, neti pots are great, just be sure to boil the water and let it cool first as recently there was a case of brain parasite from using unsterilized water. I also love hot showers (as hot as you can stand) to clear the sinuses!

As always make sure to get plenty of liquids and if you're achey take some acetominophen. Mucinex is good if you have chest symptoms, as is tussin. I think mucinex also makes a nasal decog. but I'm not sure.
