Well good your butt is getting at least more than a pain in the ...
Is it your first time on pred?
Did you have bad hemmies or it was the flare and numerous trip to the loos that got you a sore bum?
I don't know about adding more supplements or not. I think for me is to see when the asacol pills will actually kick in and do a healing party with the enemas.
I was reading your signature and can see you have to take ibuprofen once in a while. Thats not nice as it can trigger the uc. And migraines can easily drive you mad.
You don't wanna know my story. My UC is pretty much under control with what meds I am on but you pointed out correctly, its my migraine thats causing me more troubles than anything else. It hits at least twice a month and as soon as I take Ibuprofen, I flare and then I go on Pred course. Last year I had 4 courses of Pred and by the end of the year, throat infection (Rxed Azithromycin) and migraine teamed up to give this one in 5 year flare. So it was not hemmies but it was the flare that got me sore bum. My neurologist is pretty much exhausted with all options for an abortive. Even Oxycodon doesn't help (and I don't fancy that thing at all).
With supplements, if you are doing fine then don't add anything but I do remember your posts around your wedding week that you were not so good. Looks like alls settled.
@ Quincy,
I know you are a proponent of fiber but in this thread I think you are suggesting way too much fiber than required, as if the recommendation is going for someone who is on fiberless diet. Not too sure if it is harmful but over the period of last 5 years, I sort of standardized the dose to 1tbspful of psyllum husk powder does the job pretty well. If someone wants to add more fiber then instead of adding more psyllium husk (insoluble fiber), I would go for flaxseeds, soluble fiber (NOT powder). The advantage of adding flaxseed is, its not only fiber but rich source of Omega-3. Our diet is more inclined towards Omega-6 and the ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6 is skewed in our diet. (Omega 6 should be way less than Omega 3) and adding flaxseed helps you fix that ratio a bit.
Just a thought.
