Tingling in legs

Does anyone else have constant tingling, burning and itching in their legs? I've had it for years now and I think it must be colitis-related. My gastroenterologist doesn't seem to think the two are connected, and I've seen two other doctors who can't figure out what's causing it. My colitis medication keeps me from colitis flare-ups, but does nothing for my other symptoms. Does anyone else experience this or know what might be wrong with me?

When I was on the toilet a lot, and have lengthy painful BMs, I would have leg pains, sometimes sending sensations all the way down to my feet, when I wasn't even on the can.

Now I have been going much less (1x a day), and have been doing some stretches and yoga and these feelings have gone away.

There are two likely explanations for these symptoms.The first is that they are nerve, not UC related and that you need to see either a neurologist or an anesthesiologist specializing in pain management. The second is that you long ago knew that this tingling was occurring because you would one day contact Captain Ca-Ca here on this forum. While I completely understand how you feel, I really must insist that you restrain your enthusiasm.

There is something called venous insufficiency. Just google venous insufficiency and you'll find a wealth of information. I have it intermittently in both feet. When I went totally Vegan, it virtually disappeared for a while. Then started the intermittent appearances again. I am no longer totally Vegan but eat very healthily. You have my heartfelt sympathy. Such long term misery can be debilitating.

Thanks for all the replies. Just to clarify, my gastroenterologist did order blood work twice, and both times he found no abnormalities. After the second blood test, he referred me to a diagnostician who referred me to a neurologist. I had the nerves in my feet and legs tested, but he couldn't find anything wrong me me either. He suggested it may be a spinal problem, and that the diagnostician would suggest the next step. It has been over a week since I had the test, and I haven't heard back yet.

As far as my colitis goes, I've been in remission for nearly 5 years. I have however, been in near-constant discomfort - bloating, constipation, stomach cramps, painful defecation and the leg thing. It's no fun, but at least it isn't bloody diarrhea 10 times a day. I must count my blessings.
