Well tried the foam enemas for the first time last night. Was used to the liquid enemas and to go my own pace...
I though it would come slowly but when i pushed the foam there was 2 seconds of silence and then boum! It felt like a stool that was trying to come back to its origins or was stucked there!
Does the foam travels as much as the liquid?

I have heard people mention that the foam can disperse quite a bit, but it's such a smaller quantity than liquid, I can't imagine it traveling as far.

In my experience, It does not travel as far as the liquid enema. I tried to go on these exclusively, and eliminate the liquid enema, and I could not do it, because it did not travel as far into the colon as I needed it to. Good luck

I use the foam enemas in the morning so it can help during the day and use the mesalamine enema at night so I can retain it for 8 hours while I sleep. Definitely feel the mesalamine enemas working more effectively than the foam enema but at least it gives me a little extra boost to start off the day.

LOL tournevice...!! good descript
ion.
I used a proctofoam or cortifoam once 23 years ago, so don't remember the process. But I do remember I had no problem retaining it. It's possible that a steroid foam is lighter than a 5ASA foam in weight and feeling....
Hope you do OK on them...
keep us posted.

Ha! That "boum" you describe must be different than the Cortifoam insert because of the mesalamine foam's applicator. I think Knitty_cat posted a few yrs back that it surprised her, too, when she 1st tried the mesalamine foam; you might want to look up her old posts to read what she wrote about
it. She got good results using it! Also, Antiflare posted recently that his son is doing very well on the mesalamine foam. / Old Hat (31 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
