Oi oi, hope everyone's well. Been flaring for a couple of weeks after coming off pred a couple of months ago, so I'm back on the pred (40mg going down to 35 tomorrow), on predfoam enemas, still taking my Mesazaline XL (4800mg I beleive), and after a week of this I seem to be starting to settle down again - no blood this morning, I've had three BMs but I would barely call them that, it was simply a tiny amount of liquor coming out. I'm sticking to a low residue diet (white bread and soft cooked potatoes without skins) and am feeling much better.
I'm planning on being very careful with my diet in the next few months, especially in regards to drinking alcohol.
NOW.... the thing with that is that it's St Paddy's day on Saturday, and although I'm clearly not going to go out partying and getting drunk, it would really cheer me up to just be able to have one alcoholic beverage with my mates.
Beer seems like a bad idea for me due to the volume of liquid and the amount of sugar, as does cider, for the same reasons and for the fizziness. Which leaves me with wine and spirits. I know a lot of people have trouble with red wine inducing bleeding, what's your experience with this? And how about white wine and spirits?
Ideally an Irish whiskey would be the way to go, does anyone have trouble with whiskey? I'm hoping that due to the low volume (in terms of liquid content, not alchohol) and distillation it won't cause any problems if I have just the one so I can raise a toast and celebrate.
Any advice would be appreciated
Cheers :)
