Remicade and finger joint pain?

I think I'm going to stop taking Remicade. Doc has me on that and 150mg of 6mp and I'm not certain that Remicade does anything at this point after 6 treatments.

Anyways, I've heard of people having joint pain while on Remicade, but I was curious if anyone ever had only joint pain in their fingers? I seem to have gotten this after having my last Remicade dose a few weeks ago. The strange thing is it's only painful after a previous day/night of stressing the joints in some way (like last night, shuffling cards while playing Poker and the previous nights playing some video games). Don't think I have joint pain elsewhere, but I've never had this pain before.

The pain is not horrible, but it's aggravating and I notice this the most when I clench in the joints if that makes sense (like trying to make crab hands with my fingers haha). Is this from the Remicade?

It could be directly related to your UC. Unfortunately arthritis can come with it. Probably not the Remicade.

Sad to hear that. As a side question, does surgery get rid of non intestinal UC symptoms?

that's where most of my joint pain is. usually fingers, hands, wrists, elbows, and feet. sometimes i can't type or text because it's throbbing so much.

i had pain in my feet before remicade but the joint pain started after the first infusion. i've noticed it mostly in my pinky fingers- they have gotten fatter for some reason. i think i will stop remicade after my next infusion just because i've been flaring badly and it doesnt seem to affect my flare. my doctor, on the other hand, wants to double my dose and i told her that i just couldn't take all the joint pain and headaches. i get really bad pain in my infusion sites which lasts until i get another infusion.

Unfortunately no, surgery does not get rid of the other things that UC can bring. It just rids you of the obvious. I still have joint pain from it all and I am sure I will have it for life.

Hello folks. Wonder if ppl still get notifications for this thread. So I’m on remicade, I’m 34 years old. It’s 2024. And I’m reading all these comments above. And let’s just say it’s ALL happening to me. SPOT ON TOO. Reading this forum is like reading my mind right now. It’s insane now spot on everything is. It’s alittle creepy. But I now find myself in the situation to where the debilitating joint pain is intolerable. Idk what to do, and yes I’m 1 week out from my infusion everytime. So it would seem that it’s definitely the lack of remicade on my system. Because as soon as I get my next infusion, I feel great. I am every 8 weeks with the infusions though. I’ve only been on Remicade about nine months now, so still a fresh guy on this. But yes, heating pads, hot tubs, massages are my only help. Buy when it’s gets bad, I can’t even walk. And I was just running yesterday. It moves around from joint to joint fast too. i’m hoping with the amount of time someone will have a good answer now from reading other forms maybe one of these two medication‘s would help with this new arthritis I’m getting. Sulfazine or Mobic? Idk I just read others mention them. Maybe there is newer meds out for this specific issue now ? Buy my G.I. Isn’t much help on the joint pains. Anyone. Please lmk. Thanks !
