Hi All:

I just wanted to check in with the people who have helped me a lot in the past. I just my GI doc a few weeks ago. I gave blood work to check in on my Imuran use. Everything doing great with no issues. A nice healthy wbc of 7k with no inflammation. My colitis is doing great with a bm every 1-2 days. I am on the lowest dose of Imuran now with 100 mg daily. I started at 200 mg. I use canasa every 2-3 days and it helps a lot. I am scheduled to have a colonoscopy in Oct/Nov. It will be 2 years since my last one which was good, no active colitis and almost no inflammation.

Just wanted to keep in touch.

is working!
Keep coming back and letting us know how you are doing-

I applaud you for being able to pull yourself away from this site and live a normal life..I must work on that :)

Yeah tell me about it.  When my colitis was out of control I was here every day multiple times posting and reading.  Now I really don't think about bathrooms or my colitis in general.  In fact I missed my last GI appt.  due to it not being on my mind.  I quickly got back on track and saw him.  All good.  I just didn't want to be a pure user.  Meaning I didn't just want to come here in times of need beause all of you here have been of great value to me.  Checking in should give people hope because my colitis was really bad, not a mild case at all.

Hi MyUC! I enjoy reading your occasional checking-in posts, so thanks for continuing to visit us! I too am doing quite well but I like to hang around here and give the occasional input. I know I am not cured, I am in a remission of unknown length so I too will need the help and support of this forum again one day thus I should not stray too far away.

I understand people's reservations about going on Imuran but as my GI doc explained I was more frightened about uncontrolled colitis for many years.  It was getting out of hand with my entire life centering around bloody bowel movements.  The ASA meds weren't doing there job but the I responded really well to the Imuran.  My bloodwork has been spot less.  I can honestly say I feel better since I started on the Imuran vs before I went on it.  I do realize that the future is unknown and things can change but I just wanted to share some good news.

Thanks for the update MYUC. The future's unknown but that's always the case for all of us. If you're on an even lower dose of imuran and doing great, then I can see why you would never want to get off! Hope this remission lasts a lifetime.

Ok people, I will see you after a few busy months.  Thanks for all positive replies.  No worries I will be back soon to check in.  Again colonoscopy coming up in Oct/Nov so def a post will be forth coming along with path results.  Enjoy spring/summer.  I have got tons of landscaping stuff to do aroung the house this year.
