I think I have a hemroid and nervous

I've had a similar freakout just a couple of days ago. I was also deathly worried is was a cyst or (God forbid) an abcess.
My advice is either go to a good GP to have a look (i didn't),
Or have a look with a mirror: is it purple/blue and can you feel it just under the skin like a little pea? that could be a thrombosed hemorrhoid or a perianal hematoma. That should go away on its own in a couple of weeks. It can hurt; but it should feel better in a day or so but the little lump can stay for a couple of weeks. Use hydrocortisone cream to reduce the inflammation. and Make sure to keep your stools nice and soft. Also: use a stool to elevate your legs when defecating .

However if the area you describe is hot to the touch and very painful, or if you have a fever, or if the lump is not in the anus or just around the opening (for example if it's near the thigh or the buttock where there aren't any hemorrhoids), or if there is a pus-like discharge from it: THEN i would be worried.


Keep in mind im not a doctor: but i did alot of reading or medical articles a couple of days ago.
