OT - Nerve? Pain

Everyone gets random sharp pains, but lately I feel like I've been having long, sharp pains in the ends of my fingers (just one at a time) and it's usually the left pinky. Sometimes in part of the hand. I don't know that it's ever been in the right hand or fingers. I can't think what it would be. It's bad enough I'll have to like, bite the finger, because it makes me feel like it helps (I've met other people who bite places that hurt, I don't know if any of you do it, lol). Any ideas?

On a UC-related note, I just graduated to having 1 year in between appointments and I come home and what happens? Sharp pains, more than one bm, and now, cramps. Thank you, colon lol. Probably it's just from actually eating during the past couple days.

It could be carpal tunnel, tendonitis, nerve irritation......it could be quite a few things really. If it continues, you can go to your doctor and find out the cause.

My hands are messed up. I have carpal tunnel, arthritis, DeQuervain tendontis and trigger finger but the only time I get a sharp shooting pain in my fingers is from the carpal tunnel.

Not really. The only time I have constant pain is if I do a lot of hand work, typing, crafts etc. My hands sort of ache, I get a sharp shooting pain and if I keep doing whatever it is that I do, the tips of my fingers go numb. To see if it is CT, try wearing a wrist brace at night. If the pain eases up, than that tells you that the problem may be coming from your wrist. Do your fingers ever lock up on you, like when you grab something and your finger or fingers don't want to let go?
