All I can say is read everything you can on diet, since about
1900 and come to your own conclusions.
As for me I am taking fish oil right now and eating a few pounds of herring a week.
The main problem in the USA diet is not fish or fish oils, we just don't eat enough of it, it is the veggie oils,corn,soybean,ect,specifically it is the polyunsaturation, and it is really difficult to get away from. Most of the meat, butter and milk are produced from animals fed corn,soybeans.
Ray Peat does not like fish oils because they are easily oxidized.
As far as Japan goes,I believe their traditional diet would contain a large amount of veggies containing, large amounts of antioxidants.
