Well, finally got a diagnosis- chronic ulcerative colitis. Said I probably had it for years, and perhaps my quitting smoking triggered it to flare last Dec.
I've been doing well since mid Jan., on Lialda and adding Mesa. enemas. Not exactly remission, as my last c-scope 3 wks ago showed overall inflammation in large intestine down to my rectum.
Usually 1 BM a day, mostly formed- no blood.
He was planning on keeping me on Lialda till whenever, but he's allowed me to switch to another 5asa due to cost. He's suggested Apriso or AsacolHD, but would probably consider anything along those lines. I'm going to call MEDCO tomorrow and see what they have to choose from.
So, any suggestions on meds please.?

Well, I'm taking generic balsalazide (colazal) after 10 years of a $200/month Pentasa habit.

Bob, I think you already know what I'm going to say: diet modification, probiotics, L-Glutamine powder, and slippery elm powder, and of course, LDN, low dose naltrexone.
