and an interesting connection between fructose and Pancreatis.

A truly misleading article. Refined sugars and sugars from fruit are NOT the same. The American Diabetes Association says "Therefore, the use of added fructose as a sweetening agent is not recommended; however, there is no reason to recommend that people with diabetes avoid naturally occurring fructose in fruits, vegetables or other foods." When you eat a high fat diet, sugar gets trapped in the blood and works overtime in an effort to remove it from the blood. Sugar backs up in the blood as a result and wreaks havoc on your body. The problem is diets high in fat, not sugar from fruit. Dr. Mercola is a snake oil salesman only out to sling his supplements.

Unless a person is fructose intolerant, sugar from fruit is good.

I have dietary fructose intolerance. I am limited to fruit that contains higher amounts of glucose to fructose since glucose helps digest fructose. HFCS is my enemy among other types of sugars. I cannot eat honey, maple syrup or agave. High amounts of fructose are not good for the body....makes your liver work harder.

One more thing...wheat and onion family contain fructans that hinder the absorption of fructose in small intestine. My theory as to why the gluten craze is so popular is not due to the absence if gluten, but the absence of fructans. Supposedly, 30% of the population has dietary fructose intolerance or fructose malabsorption. I think people feel better without wheat because they have eliminated fructans from their diet and absorb fructose more easily.

Hence the Low FODMAPS diet...

Not everyone malabsorbs fructose though!! and the breath tests sometimes are postivve even in unsymptomatic individuals. The best way to find out is through elimination for 4-6 weeks then doing a fructose challenge.

That Harvard health blog post is purely speculative. As it concludes in the end, "Experts still have a long way to go to connect the dots between fructose and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Higher intakes of fructose are associated with these conditions, but clinical trials have yet to show that it causes them." Comparatively, you have real scientific data, from the likes of Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Dr. Dean Ornish, John McDougall, Michael Klaper, William Harris, The Pritkin Longevity Center showing that lowering fat consumption to 10% or lower will not only tremendously lower your risk of getting heart disease, cancer and diabetes but also can reverse those diseases.
