I have been experiencing chest and throat pressure/tightness for about a week.  I feel like I am having a hard time taking a deep breath, then it goes away and comes back.  Anyone experience anything like that on remicade?  I put a call into the doctor yesterday, but have not heard back from him.  I am not even really sure it has anything to do with the remicade.  I guess I will just wait until it gets worse or better.

Are you on Prednisone too? Just curious. I am having really weird stuff too. I get throat tightness too and have been on and off for years. Now I'm getting this chest and upper back pain and squeezing. It woke me up last night and it's very scary. It almost feels like a heart attack. It's been happening over the past month or so. I don't know if it's cramps from Prednisone or my heart or what. Very scary. My doc said it sounded like muscle spasms and she wanted me to take a potent Magmesium supplement. I have a message into her this morning to see if I need to be seen. Scary.

Yours could be from stress or anxiety?

I guess you are right it could be anxiety. No, I am not on prednisone. I sure don't see anyone else having the issue, so it must be attibuted to something else. It is really scary because I am afraid I am going to wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air. Maybe in my old age I am developing asthma?

Yeah, I've been on remicade for several weeks (3 infusions) and noticed a similar tightness/slight chest pain when inhaling.   It comes and goes and it's probably a side effect of remicade.  I've not googled it but there will probably be some loose reference to 'possible chest pain'.

To be honest (with me) it seems to diminish as time passes after the infusion.

Mine did not start happening until last week and my last infusion was April 13th.  My next one is June 8th.

Could it be acid reflux? I was getting chest pains from taking prednisone + remicade and it went away after taking a PPI inhibitor like nexium or prisolec.

I went for my check up last week at hospital and they said I still have a tiny bit of inflammation and if I am still bad in 5 months they will try Remicade.

I am a little worried as I have been getting very strong convulsions or like spasms, seems to start in my lower back where I had a slipped disk years ago, it goes up my spine hurts my neck at the top of my spine and sometimes in my chest. It hurts and it really jerks my body like my pulse, I told my Doc and she is making an appointment to have my heart checked.

I have had this for a year on and off now, and I do blame the different steroids they have tried on me, some made me very ill as I could not tolerate them but I have just finished Clipper. I am only on mesalazine now and Iron and an acid stopper.

Any ideas what these spasms are please as they are starting to scare me now?, They can attack at any time of day but more often when I have been to the loo or as I lie down in bed.

Ps my Bp is 190/110 even with medication for it, when I was in hospital it was perfect with no medication for it.

I can't say I know what you have but I just had my chest/back pain evaluated by my integrative md today. She did an EKG in the office and it was fine. She thinks my gut inflammation is causing me to not store Magnesium. She wants me to take 2 MagTab SR tablets a day. She said if that doesn't work, she will send me for a barium swallow to see if I have an esophogeal spasm.

Not sure if that helps but I thought I'd let you know what my experience was today.
