If you go check on pages 900ish of the UC forum, you will see totally different usernames. It seems as if the regular crew from 2007 stopped posting. Either because they found rock solid remission, surgery or just dissapeared.

In theory, 5-6 years from now....all the regulars, notsosick,red,insofla,me, Q, stereo and rest...we should not exist anymore on here lol, for whatever reason.

Haha. Well, quincy, red, and pb4 have all been aorund since the 2003/2004 timeframe! I've been around since early 2009, which isn't that long. I'm in a rock solid remission, but like to stick around to give people hope, I suppose, that UCers can get into really nice remissions on the mesalamine-meds. But yeah, I like to hope people disappear b/c they got into remission and therefore don't need the help/support any more.

LOL, well I've been here since 2004, as usual I'm the oddball! I've already been told I'd likely never find full remission due to complications with my CD...since my CD happens to affect mainly my colon, I like to visit on the UC board as well as the CD board since I have connections with both boards and over the yrs I've seen some that were DX with UC end up moving to the CD forum as a result of wrong DX.

Agreed, I'd rather be on a forum for IBDers that are celebrating being cured and sharing all the wonderful aspects of an IBD-free life...that would be much funner to particpate in...now, back to reality LOL!

I sincerely hope that the "old" members are not here because they are happy in their lives and living it to it's fullest. Every once in a while we get a veteran member that pops in here and lets us know how they are.

I have been here awhile but not longer than those oldies, Red, Quincy, and Pb4! Ha! I try to stick around to offer help as well, but I do like reading the posts about the new processes people are trying. It's always interesting!

I'm trying to get into remission and I'm seeing good results just two weeks of colozal. I won't leave ya, I will encourage everyone...get tested for lyme's, try the triple antibiotic combo therapy, take terramine clay, take your UC meds, modify your diet and try to eat gluten, dairy and sugar free. Get tested your throid tested, free testostorone, dhea, cortisol.

Technically I could disappear since my UC is gone but I like to stick around and try to help since I have the time to do so. It would be wonderful if everyone could disappear from here! :)

I always assume that when people disappear, they are feeling well and out living life. :)

i wish i had found out about this forum when i was first diagnosed at 17. my doctor at the time acted like UC was no big deal.

"eat more fiber, use rowasa for 3 weeks, and you're good to go."

if only it was that easy.

even when i was in remission, i still liked coming on here just to talk to everyone. i love having online friends!

I agree though i noticed that too as i typed in some search terms in this forum and it took me back to previous years and yes the only members still here are Red, Quincy, Pb4, Lonie and, well, that's about it. I wonder what happened to all these other people..
Hmm i guess it's wonderful to think that they all must have come here in the "Search for cure" period and then they found something that worked.

i really want to believe that somehow, somewhere, sometime we will all find a 'concontion' that works for each one of us. I will not, and do not, wanna stop believing in this. Sometimes this hope (and faith) is the only thing that keeps me fighting, especially during the difficult days.

Yes it would be perfect if one day there was this breaking news story about this cure for UC 'accidentally discovered' like most great cures usually are. Maybe iam dreaming but crazy things like that do happen. Who knows...
