I swear my colon has a mind of its own. Haha.
I'm a dedicated runner, exerciser. Last week had a lil mini flare. Got it to simmer down in time to compete in a 10k race. I was supposed to do 1/2 marathon, but too much with UC issues. Did really well in 10k though. Ran at 8:30min/mi. Then the following day, my body/bowels, etc were punishing me for putting it thru so much stress during race. Resorted to indoor workouts all this week. The last 2-3 days at gym didn't have to go to the bathroom once. So thought I'd be fine. Today I did a bootcamp and then ran outside. But getting so frustrated with my unpredictable bowels. I allow an hour or so prior to working out in morning in hopes to be done going to bathroom. Take off for run feeling great, 3-4miles down the road.. needing bathroom. Had to stop running today and resort to walking. Then looking to side of road contemplating a good hidden spot to go in the bushes. Luckily, I hung in there and about a mile down the road there was a center, with several businesses in it for me to use bathroom. (Bowels are good; solid. no blood, etc.)
Can anyone who is into running, fitness relate? Have any suggestions?
*I know that even some runners, who don't have any gastro problems can have issues after long/intense runs. Making my situation even more difficult.
