hello everyone !

well for the past 3 weeks ive been on mesalamine enemas, and mezavant 4.8gr per day. i soon as i started the enemas, i stoped bleeding which had been continious for 4 months, mucus for 2 years and the frequency.. but this week ive had a rush of stress,, having to consider finding a part time job, instead of doing massage therapy full time. and yesterday i had 8bms, and today about 5 and some mucus !!!!!!

is it bad that the meds arent working as good as before?

im on 2 shakes per day, with a regular meal,

im all new to this and im so confused and frustrated,

had to vent....

Definitely bad that they aren't working as well. Call your dr- they'll probably want to change the med or add something else.

what kind of shakes are you using? and when did you start ingesting them?

Did you possibly forget to use the enemas a few nights? or the oral 5ASA?

What was the consistency of the stool?

I, personally, would have had setbacks such as you described...my doc would have said "continue with the enemas and be patient".

3 weeks isn't a lot of time nightly for the enemas.

What exactly were your symptoms before you started the enemas...bms frequency-wise.

thanks Cloe, im seeing the gastro this afternoon, so ill see what he sais..

Quincy, no i havent missed any meds, or the enemas..
the shakes are visalus shakes, im not loosing any weight, (at my great despair) but my energy is better than before, ive been on them for about 3 weeks.
the consistancy of the stools at the begining was a little soft, but at the end didnt hold together.,.

i think im just scared because at the begining the enemas were like magic and worked so well, and i almost felt normal !
before the enemas, i had more than 15 bms a day, mucus like i was peeing anytime i would go to the toilet, served with a side of blood, and pain would drain me down like contractions.

i know its a major improvement for the pain, and the blood, which came in the last months,
the mucus had been there for almost 2 years.,

im trying to avoid raw fruits veggies and lactos, but sometimes i just crave something and cave in.. mabye it was something i ate!!!
