Have any of you tried Helminthic Therapy?  I was told this actually works, but has to be done in England, and a few other places currently, because it is not FDA approved.  Evidently they have found that in may 3rd world countries, where the drinking water is not pure, and where people are prone to these parasites... many, most of the auto immune diseases do not exist to speak of... diabetes, ulcerative colitis, MS... and others.

By injecting people with these particular parasites... the immune system eventually stops attacking the body.

Tons of past threads on this topic - try searching for terms such as helminths, helminthic therapy, worms, and worm therapy. Also, go to yahoo's yahoogroups and check out the group called " helminthictherapy"- they have FAQs there.

You can do it here in the US, you just have to order from overseas. There is a yahoo group that you can fit through Autoimmune Therapies (google it). There are people all over the world using the worms for various illnesses. There is another company called Ovamed that may be more well known. They provide pig whipworm and hookworm. AIT does the human worms which can have more implications as far as contracting smething from them but the owner does get tested as far as I know and provides the results. Do your own research, I am not a guru on this topic. Good luck.

There is compelling evidence that the rise of chronic inflammation and autoimmune illnesses including Crohn’s Disease, ulcerative colitis, celiac disease, Type 1 Diabetes, food allergies and autism in the sanitized Western industrialized world can be attributed in part to the eradication of helminths such as round worms and hook worms from the human ecology. Promising therapies using helminths are illegal in the United States and research in this area progresses slowly.
Helminthic therapy is not right for everyone with autoimmune disease, allergies, MS or autism. But it should be an option in the US and currently is not. Please consider signing this petition....and passing it on to others to sign. Thanks.

The autoimmune page claims whipworm therapy is $2,900, and is good for 18 months... Does this mean you need to pay them another 3 grand every 18 months, indefinitely? Does anyone know anyone who has used this company?
