I woke up this morning with a huge purple bruise on my wrist. I took me a while to figure out that it was from a bracelet that I was wearing yesterday. I don't remember bumping into anything or getting hurt in anyway. I have never had a problem with bruising before. Is this related to the Remicade I just started? I am so clumpsy with butterfingers these days from the prednisone that I am worried about
walking around with black and blue marks all summer long.
Is this an indication of a problem and something urgent that I should talk about
with my GI?

It's probably nothing but I would still mention it to the GI- just to keep them in the loop.

I've had 3 remi infusions and I bruise real easy especially on the backs of my hands. I'm almost 100% sure it's the pred that causes it.
I've only got to give the backs of my hands a dirty look and they bruise.

so interesting because I have been on pred for almost 5 months with no noticeable bruising until I had my first Remicade infusion a little over a week ago. Another good reason to get off of this prednisone!

I bruise easy anyway, but when I started on 6mp the bruising increased. Now that I am on both 6mp and Remicade, all you have to do is look at me and I bruise! I never remember how I get them but they just happen. I've had my platelets checked numerous times and they are always good. So, if you have not had the bruising before Remi, than it's probably the Remi. I'm not sure why though. I have tried Arnica cream in the past to help with the bruising and it helps it go away faster (it's found in most health food stores). But, you should tell your GI anyway the next time you see him.

Have def had problems with easy bruising on Prednisone. I know it was the Pred too because it went away last time I tapered off and now I get them more again. I hate them too, makes me worried. I know my CBC was good a week ago so I feel better now. I use Arnica too.
