The powder stuff, depending on if it's flavoured, might have artificial sweeteners.
If you haven't tried the psyllium, maybe switch. I suggest the capsules and to use them with/after meals. I would start with capsule at one meal a day...then increase (I can explain that later if you're interested).
If you just tapered on the Pred, that could be in part what the symptoms are. When you're tapering, try an alternating method....
15,10,15,10,15,10.....10,10,10,10.....etc depending on what the tapering dosages you're doing.
