Nausea help

I consume both the supplements and fibre foods. I just don't eat many high fibre grain foods..gas is uncomfortable and not worth it for me. If it's the only thing available and I'm not busy that day, I don't care as much...but I would still take the metamucil caps after eating regardless.

The capsules are easy for me to take...plus I don't have to consume a sweet drink after I eat (I prefer coffee ;-). I also can take them with me when I eat out.

It's a personal decision based on preference from trial and error. When I first started Metamucil, I used the Smooth Orange, but not the sugar-free one). That was to help solidify the diarrhea, and it worked well giving me a bit of a break. I didn't like the taste, mainly because I rarely consume soft drinks or juices anyway. ugh.

The enemas will keep for when you start to use them again...you'll get a bit of a break which I'm sure you won't mind..lol. But if you're going to continue with the 5ASA meds for maintenance...which would be nice... maybe ask the GI to try you on oral Apriso, and during the last part of the pred taper to get you back on the enemas help prevent some rebound symptoms.

Oh, regarding the capsules...I started with one pill at breakfast for a few days. I did feel some discomfort for a day or two, then added one at supper....then continued the process till I upped at 6 per meal. I only eat 2 main meals a day...that's based on my sleeping/functioning schedule..

Well, annoying to say the least! yikes....good you went to the hospital.

Hope the Imuran will give you a break finally. Sucks it's all happening when you're in nursing school.
