Jim,
So glad you'll be able to start LDN.
I think you're doing it the right way - 4.5mg.
Yes, the time to take it is between 10pm and 2am.
As far as what to expect:
1) some sleep problems - this typically lasts about 2 weeks until your body adjusts. And the way to get around that is to take L-Threonine amino acid powder at night (my suggestion is 20 min before or after the LDN).
2) vivid dreams - some have them, some don't. It is not a tell-tale sign of it working vs. not working.
3) you may come down with some sort of flu initially, as your immune system gets ramped up. I got a 24 hour type flu with sore throat, body aches, chills, etc.... which lasted a little more than 24 hours and then disappeared entirely (I did nothing but let the symptoms move through and out).
4) Absorption issues - unfortunately there's no magic sign for this. If you are having malabsorption issues (as I had them), then the LDN just won't work and you won't have any effects positive or negative, and will have to switch to transdermal LDN.
5) If you are already on an SCD type diet (and I know you are), wherein you've taken gluten and dairy out of your diet, you should see some results pretty quickly - from within a few days to a few weeks. Those who aren't on restricted GFDF diets, generally may take much longer to see any results, from weeks to months.
I hope it helps you, and I wish you good luck.
Please do keep us apprised of your weekly progress.
