I'm currently using pred enemas however found a bit of blood this morning, seeing my doc tomorrow. Don't really think the pred enemas are helping. What's next?
Thanks

I'm in the middle of a proctitis flare up though I don't have bleeding as I am a Crohn's patient. My GI prescribed predfoam (though I can't find it) mornings and at bedtime and in the middle of the day I should take pentasa enema along with pentasa tablets and an increased dose of Entocort to 9mg.
Hope this would be of any help.
Take care.

What is Pred enemas..you mean they make enemas from Prednisone now too? Never heard of this. I'm on oral Pred. I tried Hydrocortisone enemas but couldn't tolerate them...I blew up like a balloon and had severe constipation!

Maybe hydrocostisone enemas? I used them for 10 days but never used the full thing since it was too difficult :( Twice, I had to get up and just let go of the enema because the cramping was too much. I'm on oral prednisone now. If bum medicine doesn't work, you'll just have to take oral medication until your rectum can start tolerating enemas or suppositories.

My mistake it's a steroid foam enema called budesonide, I've heard the asacol enemas have more success.

Sound like a compound pharmacy could make that too. Not sure how effective Pred would be topical.
