I managed to get my transdermal LDN

Recently, I changed family doctors because my old doctor was retiring. The new guy is pretty cool and had no problems writing a script for transdermal.

I had it compounded at the pharmacy in my town and I mentioned that it's to be compounded without any possible allergens (gluten free stuff).

Anyways, last night was the first night I tried it. It's interesting, you use a syringe to squirt the appropriate dose on your wrist or other location.

I personally don't put alot of faith in it, but we will see. So far, I've been close to 3 months on the pill form, I doubt that the transdermal will make much of a difference.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I'm getting another colonscopy on the 1th of aug to see the state of my colon. I'll share the results of that too.

I get wet dreams sometimes, but you probably don't want to know about those ones. LOL

somedude, we are colonoscopy mates! i have one on august 1st, too. i'll be thinking about you when i go in at 2:30 pm. hope yours goes well.

maybe the transdermal might get absorbed into your bloodstream better than it's getting absorbed into your digestive track. i haven't noticed any benefits of the LDN yet either (61 days so far) but maybe it's one of those drugs that takes a while to build up in your system. who knows...

Ha I'm pretty sure you will be trying you're groundbreaking 'other' location won't you?

I have my transdermal as well but i haven't started it yet due to being on pred at the moment.

I've changed my DHEA to transdermal also and i think it's made a difference.  I'm pretty sure transdermal bypasses the liver so you may get more bang from the meds.   

I too have a colonoscopy coming up - not yet booked but probably in August/September.

Somedude, I hope that the transdermal will work better for you. Maybe you are one of those who has absorption problems (like me) with oral LDN?

Joanna, SKip's told me to give it a good 6 months before giving up. I've heard anecdotal stories about many starting to get results at their 5-6th month.

Which doctor prescribed it for you?

Is there any way you could contact his nurse and tell her he wrote it wrong and it should be LDN, naltrexone and not naloxone?

somedude, i'll post the scope results on aug 2 or 3. sedation drugs affect me very strongly so i know i'll be out of it for a day or two afterwards. at one of my colonscopies, when i woke up, i was walking like a t-rex and casting spells at everyone with a straw (according to my parents).

also, i've never had gastros tell me how many centimeters of colon or any description of what's going on. this will be my 6th colonoscopy and i always feel clueless afterwards! the docs usually explain everything to my mom and she isn't very medical savy with UC.

He's my GP - deals with pain management so he is familiar with LDN.
Yeah, his nurse doesn't like me so well, neither does his guard dogs. So I'll have to go to the pharmacy and get it changed. I do know naloxone is similar in nature to LDN, but not quite. So I'm not risking it.
And I'm not getting it just yet because I may be sick, and I don't have any money for it regardless. Until August.
I'll also be ditching the wheat products I eat, and strictly have wheat-free, dairy-free diet. So I'm almost there.
