OT # ankle update

Hi everyone some of you may remember back in November 2011 I fell # my ankle, well after all these months it still has not healed so on the 11th sept I'm booked for op to remove part of my ankle bone as it can't be pinned and to repair the ligerments.
Well as this is the NHS it has taken nearly a year of hospital visits and a lot of waiting so I'm hoping it will not be cancelled, I will have to have my pre op assesment bloods and swabs re-down as they will be out of date they last 8wks .
Thankfully stomach / bowels have been not to bad with only a few minor hic ups
So thought I would let you all know will of cause keep you up dated fingers crossed glad and nervous at same time, funny how we almost look forward to it even though we know the pain that will follow but will be very glad to get it sorted once and for all.

Aw, sorry that you're aching & toes get stiff. Would it help you to wear the soft boot you had after getting cast removed last winter? Just trying to think of some way you might make yourself more comfortable 'til surgery date. I have weak ankles myself so I can definitely relate to your problem. I wear padded walking shoes all the time; they seem to give my ankles more support & protection from hard cement/concrete sidewalks & streets. / Old Hat (31 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
