OT ankle op update

For those who know me just a update on ankle,am pleased to say had op yesterday.They removed bone from ankle and floating bone fragments and repaired ligament which had rupture,didn't know that but that would explain constant pain.
I'm now on bed rest non weight baring for 4 wks with back slab plaster until they change it after 2 wks if wound ok.
Hubby is having to give me anti blood clot injections daily for 28 days friend showed him how he's doing first one today don't know who's more nervous.
Lucky so for everything else behaving it self and hope it will continue but think all the codine is helping that for time being,will keep you updated seeing consultant in 2 wks for wound check and plaster change.

Glad to hear things are sounding positive. It's amazing what an ordeal this has turned out to be for you! It seems like it's been going on for quite some time. Yes it is very good that everything else is not acting up at this time. Hope you are back on your feet soon (literally, hah!)

Oh wow! long time process. Good you had surgery...hope this will finally heal and have no further problems.

Your husband will have good practice and do OK regarding the shots...just don't say ouch when he does them..even if it hurts..lol.

So, after you heal, i'm assuming physio is next in line?

Hubby has done his first injection and did a very good job,he will be dab hand by end of them bless him he's very proud and so am I.

So your surgery did get moved up by about 3 weeks from what you expected last time you posted us, right? I'm glad to know you finally got it done, also that hubby can help with the shots you need. Will your daughter take up cooking again? Remember you wrote us last yr that she made toad in the hole after you broke ankle, & Fruitgirl replied that she had a similar dish in Indiana ... lol. I hope you heal quickly. lol, Old Hat, your memory is ridiculously good! I will never try to get one past on you, that's for sure.

Thanks for your kind compliments. It helps that Lambkins writes very interesting real-world posts about health problems, work and household situations that I can identify with-- so it's easy for me to remember what she told us earlier. She also keeps a sense of humor and shares good news with us, too, such as the menu for her son's 21st b'day party-- that taught me about bannoffee pie. I'm glad you had your surgery Lambkins...hopefully this will get you back on to the road to recovery. It's makes my poor broken toe pale in comparison! LOL Yes, I missed your earlier post due to hand surgery and then I was MIA due to my wedding anniversary, my son's birthday and my daughter's birthday....I've been a busy little bee! But hopefully, now that you have had this repaired, you can move forward :)
