For the last week I've been having a small amt of rectal bleeding upon wiping. It all started during a BM, when I felt it tear as I was going. I didn't think I was particularly constipated but this seems to happen a lot to me. I took a few warm baths, used the special prescription rectal cream for hemmies my doc gave me, and I used some vaseline too.
When I insert the cream, I can actually feel an area right in the beginning of the rectum, that felt sore, like a cut. So I hadn't had a BM in two days, went this morning and again had a little rectal bleeding only upon wiping. But this time, the cut feeling is on the other side of the rectum, but still close to the opening on the inside. Again, with my finger, when putting cream in, I could feel a soreness like a cut.
I want to know if this sounds like a fissure and if so, can you get more than one fissure? Or does this sound like the beginning of a new flare? So far m BM's are normal. There is no mucous or blood other than wiping. No cramps or belly ache. My diagnosis is proctitis. As far as I know, it has not spread further up the colon. It seems like my problem area is only 1/4 inch inside the rectum. I thought I had flare this passed Spring but truthfully, the doctors are not even sure it was a flare. Nobody is sure whether it was a mild flare or a fissure and hemmie issue with some mild IBS. My proctitis does not cause diarrhea.
