Vega One/Shakeology

I've been doing some research on a lot of stuff since I found out I had UC. After finding out I went to my local health food store and started checking out stuff. I stumbled across a product called Vega One. It’s a health shake, lots of vitamins and minerals. Also loaded with probiotics and different digestive enzymes. I got it and have loved it ever since. So I thought I would stop by and tell everyone about it, it can be a little pricy $69.99 for 22 servings, but it also eliminated a few things for me. I don't need to take all these different vitamins, or other pills, since it’s all in this one drink. I've also been able to find it a lot cheaper on Amazon, so you do have that option. Best of all is its free from dairy, gluten and soy, and contains no added sugar, artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners, and vegan, so it doesn't contain any of those trigger a lot of us can't have.   Here's the link if you want to check it out: http://shop.myvega.com/Vega-Us/Vega-Nutritional-Products_2   There is also another product called Shakeology, its more expensive, but is loaded with a lot of great stuff, and is even better than the Vega One, but it runs $120 for 30 servings, so I opted for this one instead.   Also, I just want to say I don't have any affiliation with these guys, so I'm not just trying to pimp my own product, I really feel this is a great product, and since we can't deal with a lot of foods, and have to take so many pills, I thought this might be a nice option for some people.   - Adam

Ya it is pricy, but I've been using it for a meal replacement. I add a scoop of protein powder and a tbls of almond butter, so its not to bad that way.

is remi something you can't get off of without a lot of withdrawl symptoms ? sorry, i haven't paid attention to all the posts or done a lot of reading about remi - is your sig current and do the things you are doing help ?

so.....did you try the kefir and gf before you started the remi ?

in case you haven't figured out my ulterior motive yet, i'm trying to get you off that nasty stuff - actually, i don't know if it's nasty, it just isn't right - but like i said, you have a life, and still have all your original equipment -

i think you have the right idea - keep doing good things for your body - stay on the nasty remi for now, then give it the boot and live the rest of your life uc free -

I had a severe reaction to Vanilla Vega One product that I bought in February of 2013. My symptoms included diarrhea and eventually bloody diarrhea. I never attributed it to this product until recently. After being diagnosed with colitis, I thought back in my mind as to when the symptoms began; days after I started taking the Vega One shake. However, the label on the Vega one container assured consumers that detoxifying symptoms such as diarrhea may occur when starting use of the product; so I never discontinued use of the shake mix.
The Canadian Health department issued a warning against this product in February 2013, due to the presence of K. oxytoca bacteria, which can cause symptoms such as bloody diarrhea.

American consumers were however were not warned about the dangers of this product. Thus, it was sold in places like Whole Foods while simultaneously being recalled in Canada.
I would stay away from any of these products being that the heads of this company will do anything to make money, even if that means putting their loyal customer's health at risk.
