After being stuck on Prednisone and sort of crawling along for the past few months, I had my first infusion today. I'd been going to the bathroom every hour or so for the past 2 months with extreme urgency. I know this is only the first infusion and it usually takes a few to get some good results, but its been 5 hours and I haven't had the urge to go at all. I'm hoping this is a good sign of things to come...

that's so great! i remember my symptoms went down a lot after the first infusion to the point where i was constipated. that was no fun, but it was better than going all the time.

I was the same way. I felt really good after my first infusion but it wore off quickly, than I had my second loading dose and that one lasted longer, than I had my 3rd and it was even better :)

I've now been on it for a year and I'm doing very well.

I was "normal" within 24 hours of my first infusion. Stayed that way on infusions every eight weeks for about 5 to 6 monnths, then things started wearing off so we upped it to every 6 weeks, that lasted another few months then it started wearing off after 2 weeks :( On to new drugs.... hope you have better long term success!!

My next infusion is scheduled for two weeks from now. I've read that normally the first four doses are considered the loading doses. What's the usual interval between the loading doses?

Loading doses go 2,4,6 then 8 weeks, then every 8 weeks for regular doses. I also had the same effect, hoping it only gets better the longer it goes on.

uc-logic is right, the loading doses are closer together then go to the 8 week schedule, sorry forgot about that part

good luck!  I had the same, I felt better very quickly after my first infusion and then my symptoms would come back.  It took from April to Nov in 2011 to reach remission.  It felt like 5 steps forward and three back for a long time.  I'd do well and then after a while the symptoms would come back.  Been doing good since Nov, fingers crossed!!
